Privacy Policy

Effective: 17 September 2026 Last updated: 17 September 2026

This policy explains what information York PA Radon Pros handles when you visit https://yorkparadonpros.com, why, and what you can do about it. “We” and “us” mean the operator of York PA Radon Pros. The short version is that the site uses Google Analytics to see, in aggregate, how the site is used. It runs no advertising tracking, and has no accounts, newsletter, or comments, so it collects relatively little. Relatively little is not the same as nothing, and the rest of this page describes what is collected.

Like everything else on the site, this page is general information that may become incomplete or out of date. Our Terms & Conditions explain why you should verify anything important before acting on it.

What do we collect?

Server logs. The site is hosted by SiteGround. As with any website, the host’s servers automatically record technical details of each request: your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you request, the page that referred you, and the date and time. The host keeps these logs for a limited period for security and performance purposes.

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use the site. It records which pages are viewed and for how long, the site or search that referred you, your general location (city or region, derived from your IP address, which Google Analytics 4 does not store), your device, browser, and screen size, and certain interactions, such as clicking a link to a listed company’s website or tapping a phone number. It does this using cookies that distinguish one browser from another. It does not tell us your name, your email address, or who you are, and we do not try to identify individual visitors. We have not enabled Google’s advertising features, Google Signals, or ad personalization. Our cookie banner holds Google Analytics back until you accept it. Google’s handling of this information is described in the Google Privacy Policy and in Google’s page on how it uses information from sites that use its services.

Google Search Console. We use Google Search Console to see which searches lead people to the site and how our pages perform in Google Search. It shows us aggregate search data only. It does not collect information from you when you visit the site, and it does not identify individual searchers.

Messages sent through the contact form. If you use the form on our Contact page, we receive whatever you type into it, which normally means your name, your email address, and your message. The submission is delivered to us by email and may also be stored in the site’s database. We use it to answer you and to act on what you have told us, for example by correcting a listing.

Embedded YouTube videos and Google Maps. Some pages include a video hosted by YouTube or a map provided by Google Maps. When one of these loads, your browser connects directly to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and device information and may set their own cookies. That collection is governed by the Google Privacy Policy, the YouTube Terms of Service, and the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service, not by this policy. Our cookie banner holds these embeds back until you accept them.

Cookies. The site sets a small number of necessary cookies, plus Google Analytics cookies if you accept them. The Cookie Policy lists them.

What do we not collect?

We do not carry advertising networks, affiliate tracking, or marketing pixels, and we do not use analytics data for advertising. There is no newsletter, no comment system, and no visitor account or login. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and we ask you not to put any in a contact form message.

Why do we use the information?

We use it to keep the site running and secure, to diagnose technical problems, to learn which pages and listings visitors find useful, to measure in aggregate how often visitors click through to the companies we list, to reply to people who write to us, to correct and improve listings and articles, to handle legal notices and rights requests, and to meet legal obligations. We do not use it to build profiles of individual visitors, and we do not send marketing.

What is the legal basis?

Where the law requires one, we rely on our legitimate interest in operating a secure and accurate website, on your consent (for Google Analytics and the embedded content you accept through the banner, and for messages you choose to send), and on compliance with legal obligations.

Who else sees it?

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. It is seen only by:

  • our hosting provider, SiteGround, which stores the site and its logs;
  • Google, which provides Google Analytics and processes analytics data on our behalf, and which receives data directly from your browser when you load an embedded YouTube video or Google Map;
  • the email service that delivers contact form messages to us;
  • technical vendors who help us maintain or secure the site, under a duty of confidentiality;
  • courts, regulators, or law enforcement, where the law requires it or where it is needed to protect our rights or someone’s safety;
  • a successor operator, if the site ever changes hands, who would remain bound by this policy.

We may share aggregate, non-identifying statistics, such as the total number of visitors who clicked through to a listed company, with that company. These statistics do not identify any individual.

How long do we keep it?

Server logs are kept by the host for a limited period and then deleted or overwritten. Google Analytics data tied to cookies is retained for up to 14 months and then deleted automatically, and the cookies themselves expire after up to two years unless you clear them sooner. We keep contact form messages for as long as it takes to deal with the matter and for a reasonable period afterward for our records. You can ask us to delete your message sooner.

How is it protected?

The site is served over an encrypted connection, and we use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold. No website can promise perfect security, and we do not.

What about children?

The site is written for adult homeowners and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.

How do we treat Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control?

We do not track visitors across other sites, and we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, so these browser signals have nothing of that kind to switch off on our side. Google Analytics and the embedded YouTube and Google Maps content are controlled through the cookie banner, where you can decline them.

What choices and rights do you have?

You can decline Google Analytics and embedded content through the cookie banner, and change your choice at any time by reopening the banner or clearing your cookies. Google also offers a Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on that stops Google Analytics from running on any site you visit.

You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to us through the Contact page. State privacy laws, such as California’s, may give residents additional rights. We honor reasonable requests regardless of where you live, and we will not treat you differently for making one. We may need to confirm your identity before acting.

California’s “Shine the Light” law lets residents ask about disclosures of personal information to third parties for direct marketing. We make no such disclosures.

What if you are visiting from outside the United States?

York PA Radon Pros is operated from the United States and written for readers in Pennsylvania. Information is processed in the United States and wherever our service providers, including Google, maintain facilities, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

What about links to other sites?

Listings and articles link to contractors, government agencies, and other outside websites. Once you leave our site, the other site’s privacy policy applies, and we are not responsible for its practices.

Will this policy change?

It will be revised if the site’s practices change, for example if we ever add advertising, a newsletter, or a new embedded service. The date at the top shows the current version.

How to reach us about privacy

Privacy questions and rights requests all go through the Contact page. Mention “privacy” in your message so it reaches the right queue.
