We want everyone who visits York PA Radon Pros to feel welcome and to find what they came for, whatever their abilities and whatever technology they use to browse. A homeowner trying to find a certified radon professional should be able to do that with a screen reader, a keyboard, a phone held at arm’s length, or text enlarged to twice its size. The Americans with Disabilities Act describes the spirit we try to follow, and we look to Section 508 as a benchmark for what good practice looks like.
What we did
We build and maintain the site using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, the version the U.S. Department of Justice uses as its technical standard. The guidelines explain how to make web content more usable for people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, hearing, motor, and cognitive ones. They define three levels of conformance: A, AA, and AAA. We have chosen Level AA as our target.
How we did it
We build on modern, standards-based WordPress templates. We review the site with automated accessibility tools such as WAVE, Lighthouse, and axe, and we follow those scans with manual checks for keyboard navigation, heading structure, alternative text on images, color contrast, resizable text, and descriptive link text. New articles and listings are reviewed against the same checklist before they are published.

Third-party content
Some parts of the site are provided by third-party vendors and may not be fully accessible or equally usable by everyone. We understand that every area of the site should meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and we will update these areas as we are able. The third-party components currently in use are:
- the WordPress theme and plugins the site is built on
- embedded YouTube videos
- embedded Google Maps
- the contact form plugin
- the cookie consent banner
Where a listing includes a map, we also give the business’s address and phone number as plain text, so that no one has to rely on the map to find them.

We monitor the site regularly and review this statement at least once a year. The most recent review was completed on 17 September 2026.
